Greco di Tufo Terre D'Aione , an exceptional expression of the winemaking art from the hills of Tufo, in the province of Avellino, Campania.

Greco di Tufo DOCG is mainly obtained from the native Greco vine , this white wine has conquered enthusiasts from all over the world thanks to its unique character and elegance.

Technical information:

  • Denomination: Greco di Tufo DOCG
  • Grape variety: Greco di Tufo 100%.
  • Vineyard location: (in the province of Avellino), in the characteristic hamlet of San Paolo in the heart of the municipality of Tufo.
  • Vineyard exposure and altitude: south at 500/550m asl
  • Nature of the soil: clayey-farinaceous with consistent sulphurous veins. The ancient volcanic origin and the structure deriving from the decay of sandstone over the millennia have contributed to making these soils rich in calcareous and clayey components and to creating a perfect substrate for obtaining wines with intense aromas and particular mineral notes.
  • Vine training: guyot-trained counter-espalier.
  • Plant density: 3000 plants per hectare.
  • Area: 14 hectares.
  • Average age of the vine: 25 years.
  • Yield per hectare: 80q
  • Vinification techniques: the grapes, produced entirely with Greco di Tufo, are harvested and selected exclusively by hand. The whole bunches undergo a soft pressing and a natural removal of the lees (cold static defecation). The must produced ferments in steel tanks, at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. The wine then rests in steel, for about 3 months, on its lees, to refine its organoleptic characteristics at a controlled temperature before being bottled.
  • First vintage produced: 2008.
  • Gastronomic combinations: This wine lends itself to numerous culinary combinations.
Thanks to its lively acidity and its complex structure, it is ideal to accompany dishes based on fish, seafood and shellfish . It also goes perfectly with fresh or medium-aged cheeses, spring salads and light vegetable-based appetizers .

  • Serving temperature: 8/10°C.

  • Tasting : Take care and be patient to uncork the bottle half an hour before tasting to favor the oxygenation of any reduction notes due to the winemaking process.
To best appreciate it, preferably use a medium-sized goblet with a sufficiently large light to favor the diffusion of the perfumes.

"These are just recommendations but it is important to underline that wine tasting is a completely subjective experience, so follow your personal tastes and enjoy YOUR journey to discover our Greco di Tufo."

  • Appearance: it has a brilliant straw yellow color with golden reflections that enhance its beauty. Its texture is clear and crystalline but full-bodied at the same time.

  • Perfume: At first smell, the intense and aromatic bouquet fascinates. Fresh citrus notes emerge, such as lemon and grapefruit, which mix with hints of white flowers and a subtle minerality. Peach and green apple nuances add a fruity sweetness to the whole.

  • Taste: On the palate, it stands out for its balanced structure and lively acidity. The citrus flavors blend elegantly with a pleasant mineral note, which gives the wine a unique depth and complexity. Together with these characteristics, nuances of white pulp fruit emerge, accompanied by a slight spiciness.

  • Body and structure: it has a medium to full body which reveals its quality and concentration.

  • Storage: Thanks to its structure and acidity, it can age beautifully over the years, developing further nuances and complexity . However, it can be enjoyed young to appreciate its freshness and vitality.
It is advisable to keep it in a cool and dark place, away from sources of heat and excessive light, in a horizontal position to ensure maximum conservation.
