Our territory

Tufo has always been dedicated to the production of quality wines, thanks to its elevated position and the characteristics of its soils rich in minerals, including, in particular, sulphur.

The 12 hectares of vineyards in the hamlet of San Paolo in Tufo, close to the old sulphur mines in the area of Cicogna, on hillsides between 450 and 550 meters above sea level and with logs over 40 years old, are recognized as among the favourites of the entire area for exposure and soil and climate conditions.

In this area wine has been produced since ancient times, as evidenced by references to “Greek wine” in a fresco of Pompeii in the first century BC and the notes of the historian Pliny the Elder who speaks of it as a nectar “so precious, that in banquets it was poured only once.
